That’s not necessarily a bad thing because, as I said, the games and atmosphere are pretty fun.
River Rock, anybody? My point is that, as a casino, Cowboys is fairly average. If we go beyond Alberta and into the rest of Canada, that “difference” factor gets even harder to discern. I mean, if we consider casinos in Calgary, I struggle with trying to figure out how Cowboys differs in any significant way from Grey Eagle, for example. I’ll give Cowboys points: The vague cowboy theme is fitting for Calgary the grounds are clean and, the gaming selection is pretty impressive, albeit fairly standard as far as casinos go. For this reason, Cowboys is touted as both a multi purpose venue AND as “redefining how much fun a local casino can be.” If gambling isn’t really your thing, this 96,000 square foot casino also features an impressive bar on the main floor, two restaurants and dance hall. With 33 gaming tables (including blackjack, roulette and craps), and over 350 slot machines (multiple denominations), there’s a bit of something for everybody. Located in trendy Victoria Park, and adjacent to the Calgary Stampede grounds, Cowboys Casino is a convenient and fun place to spend an hour or so.
